2009/08/18: IM Jean Hebert has won the 2009 Canadian Closed and Qualifier for the World Cup. He must be one of the older Canadian champions, only a couple of years older than me :-( , and first won this title 30+ years ago.

2009/04/16: Coming up this Sunday is the first to my knowledge PEI School Team Championship. We are expecting as many as a dozen 4 players teams.

2009/04/15: NM Anthony Howarth is the featured player in this year's Charlottetown Open. A full list of participants is available at the Calendar of Events page. The event goes May 2-3.

2009/04/14: I've broken off my internation chess news into it's own page. you can link to it from lower on the page.Great source of info on "the world of chess".

2009/04/07: Anthony Banks and Fred McKim tie for 1st with 4 out of 5 at the UPEI Spring Active Tournament. Gordon Waddell captures Most Improved and Iain Crowell takes Top Junior. 10 played
